Built by 100 German masons over 6 years, the 9,300 square foot Castle is constructed of local silica sandstone, painstakingly brought to the property by horse and wagon in the Gilded Age. The Castle has been modernized over the years while retaining its classic charm, including a lavish ballroom complete with two stone fireplaces and Grand Staircase. With a dungeon tucked into a secret passageway, griffins providing stony vigilance, steep topography maximizing natural defense, and a turreted rooftop with battlements and a spectacular view, the Castle hearkens back to European traditions.

The jazz is hot, the bourbon is flowing, and somewhere in the Castle, a killer is waiting to be unmasked.

We are thrilled to announce that tickets are now on sale for the Fourth Annual Murder Mystery Dinner Fundraiser at the Berkeley Springs Castle: An Engagement with Bourbon and Death.

Join us on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, for an evening of intrigue, elegance, and spirited sleuthing. This year’s theme transports you to the roaring 1920s, where a celebration of wealth and whiskey takes a deadly turn.

Your evening includes:

A delicious multi-course dinner
A live, interactive murder mystery performance
A cash bar featuring 1920s-inspired cocktails and bourbon selections (two drink tickets included in ticket purchase)
The atmospheric splendor of the Castle, dressed for the occasion

1920s attire is encouraged but not required. Prizes for best costumes will be awarded! Whether you arrive as a flapper, a bootlegger, Gatsby himself or a detective in search of clues, you’ll be swept into a story where every guest is a suspect.
